The Mash Group is focused on “by the realization of our ideas, we try to bring happiness to people”. As a rapidly growing creative company, their business is spread across fashion, cosmetics, food, wellness and sports, design and e-commerce in Japan as well as overseas. In 2017, Mash U.S.A was founded with plans to open flagship stores for brands “snidel” and “gelato pique” in NY by Spring 2018.

In 1999, Mash Style Lab was established as a computer graphics production company. Their fashion business began with the launch of their women’s fashion brand “snidel” in 2005. The Mash Group currently operates 19 companies; 11 in Japan and 8 overseas. They are present in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao with almost 500 stores, and expanding their presence overseas.

The group is also active in bringing global brands to Japan. The Mash Group partnered with New Zealand’s Peter Kraus Group to establish joint venture “ecostore Japan” in 2017, and also has plans to exclusively bring the popular organic ice cream store “Three Twins Ice Cream” from the U.S to Japan.

Q. Do you have any memories from working with LUMINE that you would like to share?

We have many. Various brands of the Mash Group have opened their first store within LUMINE and we have shared those special moments. Our flagship brands such as “snidel” and “gelato pique” have grown to be Japanese brands with the capacity to go global, partly thanks to LUMINE. LUMINE has also brought the spotlight to organic and natural beauty brand “Cosmetic Kitchen” which has grown massively. The fact that most Mash Group brands generate their highest sales through LUMINE stores, defines the significance of our relationship.

Q. Do you have any messages to your overseas customers/companies?

We are dedicated to our company slogan “Wellness Design”, and value not only the overall wellness of our employees, but aim to achieve a healthier and happier society through our businesses. In hopes to bring happiness to the women of more countries, we will continue to provide fashion and beauty through our businesses.
